When Rolex dropped the Day Date back in 1956, it wasn’t just a new watch; it was the first wristwatch to actually spell out the day of the week in full, a total game changer at the time. Naturally, it became the undisputed power watch for world leaders, earning its rightful nickname, The President’s Watch. This 2023 example (Ref. 128235) takes that incredible heritage and wraps it in a stunning 18k Everose gold case with a slate dial slightly changing when the light hits. The layout is just perfect: round diamond markers everywhere else, but they upgraded the 6 and 9 oclock positions with baguette diamonds for more flair. Inside, you’ve got the caliber 3255 running the show with a solid 70 hour reserve. Overall, a special find in todays market.
